It was a cold, wet, windy night in Islington. But at the instigation of Liveryman and impresario Mavis Gold, just shy of 50 World Traders and their guests took over Hoxley & Porter on Upper Street to pierce the early February gloom with a great evening of jazz and blues. Court Assistant Mark Olbrich and his Blues Eternity Band gave us two terrific sets of foot-stomping tracks (”On the road again”, a little bit of Johnny Cash and the like) that had people dancing in the aisles and corners (space was tight!). Good food, good company and great music: a fun night. Thank you from us all, Mavis!
