The World Traders supports a range of educational projects in line with its objects
- To promote, encourage and foster World Trade in all its aspects
- To further education training and advancement courses in connection with world trading activities
- To establish and upkeep scholarships, bursaries, prizes and research.
Past and current educational spending includes:
- Regular awards and prizes across the range of educational sectors
- Projects on the International Baccalaureate Creativity Action and Service (CAS)
- A careers seminar aimed at sixth formers from state schools
- The annual Limerick Lecture at London Metropolitan University
Who should apply?
Proposals are invited from a variety of non profit - making organisation involved in education across the spectrum of primary, secondary, tertiary, and higher education, as well as other educational and training institutions.
Criteria for evaluation of projects
- Projects must be consistent with the objects of the Company (above)
- Financial support or any one project will not exceed a maximum of £10,000 per annum (lesser amounts considered)
- Amounts given by the Company should not represent more than 75% of total project funding (in terms of money not resources)
- Results must be clear and measurable
- Projects funded are those with which the Company can be specifically/publicly identified
- Projects should be original or innovative
- A City link is desirable
- Projects which could benefit a number of people are desirable
Application Procedure
- Applicants should complete the application form below
- Proposals are then considered by the Education Committee which makes recommendations to the Trustees
- The decision of the Trustees is final
